With the real threat of long rifles in the form of AR15, AK47, and various hunting style rifles utilizing common .223, 5.56, 7.62, .308.30.06 and other high velocity and penetrating rounds, soft armor simply is not capable of stopping those type of threats and therefore the need has arrived for considering rifle armor upgrades to provide the only protection capable of defeating these threats.
